Luise Holle , b. Luise Meyer , (born May 17, 1864 in Bremerhaven , † July 19, 1936 in Bremen ) was a German cookbook author.

Life

Holle was the daughter of the Bremerhaven city ​​dancer Johann Meyer. She married the educator Dr. Gustav Holle. From 1892 to 1942 she edited the famous classic, the practical cookbook by Henriette Davidis , which, as a cookbook, was part of the basic equipment of many German households. Since the 32nd edition of 1892, Holle has comprehensively revised the cookbook. In addition to technical innovations, she mainly added fine cuisine and sick foods, as well as a chapter on the utilization of leftovers and the art of economic activity . She continued to make suggestions about how the dishes were prepared and what the menu was . The pure cookbook has increasingly become a housekeeping book. She also wrote other cookbooks.

Since 1918 she lived as a widow in Vegesack , Bremer Straße 52. Here she founded the housewives association.
