Lukas Richter

Hermann Lukas Richter (born February 22, 1923 in Bärenstein ; † September 24, 2000 in Berlin ) was a German musicologist .

Life

He studied church music in Leipzig in 1941 and 1942 . He had to interrupt his studies because of the Second World War . From 1949 Richter studied musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He then took on various teaching positions there. Richter received his doctorate in 1957. From 1961 he worked at various institutes of the German Academy of Sciences and completed his habilitation in 1966. In 1988 Richter retired. In 1993 he was made an honorary professor.
