Lukas Wilaschek (born April 30, 1981 in Katowice , Poland ) is a former German boxer of Upper Silesian origin. Wilaschek and his family came to the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1980s as a ethnic German repatriate .

amateur

As an amateur, he completed 130 fights with 115 wins. He boxed in the Boxing Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen and won the German championship title in 2000. At the European Cadet Championships (U-17) in Bitola in 1997 , he finished second. He was also vice-European champion twice: in Perm in 2002 and in Pula in 2004 , where he was defeated by the Russian Olympic champion Gaidarbek Gaidarbekow in the final.

He also took part in the 2004 Olympic Games for Germany , where he was eliminated in the second round of the tournament after losing points to the Ukrainian Oleg Maschkin .

Professional career

A little later, Wilaschek switched to the professional camp. He signed a contract with Spotlight Boxing and was trained by Michael Timm . His professional debut took place on September 18, 2004. In 2007 he won the International German Super Middleweight Championship. In his 23rd fight he suffered his first defeat on December 9, 2008 in Sölden against Robert Stieglitz , he lost over twelve rounds on points.

In April 2009 he was diagnosed with cerebral hemorrhage after a training session , which is why he ended his active career at the age of 28.
