Thomas Luke Macfarlane Jr. (born January 19, 1980 in London , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor .

Life

Macfarlane attended London Central Secondary School in his hometown with his twin sister Ruth. He was the front man of the school-based band Fellow Nameless , which he left to study in the Drama Division of the Juilliard School in New York City . He studied there on a four-year scholarship and finally graduated in 2003.

He got his first role in a major movie in 2004 in Kinsey - The Truth About Sex . He played Bruce, son of the sex researcher Alfred Kinsey . In the television series Over There - Kommando Irak , he played the private Frank Dumphy. From 2006 to 2011 he played the role of Scotty Wandell in the ABC series Brothers & Sisters .

Since 2014 he has played Rick Lincoln in the hospital series The Night Shift . Since 2015 he can be seen in the Canadian SF series Killjoys as "D'avin Jaqobis".

In April 2008, Macfarlane admitted his homosexuality in an interview with the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail . As a reason for the timing, he cited his role in Brothers & Sisters : Scotty and Kevin got married in the season finale.
