Luke Sital-Singh (born March 11, 1988 in New Malden , London ) is a British singer-songwriter .

Career

Sital-Singh grew up in south-west London. The Indian surname goes back to Indian grandparents, but he is now the second generation to live in Great Britain. After school he went to Brighton , where he studied at the Institute of Modern Music there . He released his first EP Fail for You in 2012. It was produced by Iain Archer, who taught there. With the EP Sital-Singh gained first attention and his songs found their way into the radio stations. The second EP Old Flint in the spring of 2013 helped him to a record deal with Parlophone . Tours and festival appearances increased his notoriety and after the third EP Tornados he was included in the BBC's Sound of 2014 list at the end of the year , which predicted his breakthrough for the following year. His debut album The Fire Inside was released in August 2014, but missed the top 40 in the UK charts . The album was also in the charts in Belgium and the Netherlands. On November 1, 2014 he appeared on Inas Nacht on German television.
