The Lulua is a right tributary of the Kasai in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

Its headwaters are east of Dilolo near the Angolan border in the Lualaba province . From here it flows north through the province of Kasaï-Central (which was previously called after the river Lulua) to the province of Kasaï , where it flows into the Kasai.
history
The river is considered to be the border of the settlement area of the historical Cuba Federation .
The German African explorer Hermann Wißmann founded the Luluaburg station on the banks of the river in 1885 .
In May 1961, 24 Ghanaian soldiers from a UN contingent were rescued from the river near the city of Port Franqui .
