Model of Luna 25 (Luna-Glob)

Luna 25 (formerly Luna-Glob , Russian Луна-Глоб ) is a planned Russian spacecraft to explore the southern lunar pole . It is scheduled to start in October 2021 (as of March 2020).

The plans for a new Russian lunar probe were first published in 1997, but could not be tackled at the time due to financial difficulties in space travel. Funds were only made available for the space probe in the new space program designed for the years 2006 to 2015. The plans were changed several times, and the originally intended penetrators were also removed.
