Lupara Bianca

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lupara Bianca is the Italian name for a murder, mostly in Mafia circles, in which the corpse is removed without a trace and thus turns out to be an incriminating evidence .

The usually permanent disappearance of the person and their corpse also serves in many cases to deprive the relatives of the victim from the possibility of mourning, since the family is denied the funeral of the deceased. In contrast, there is the Lupara Rossa , the open murder of opponents.

etymology

Lupara is the name of a Sicilian hunting rifle , a sawed-off shotgun that was originally used to hunt wolves , but was also used to murder opponents. The word bianca means “white” and indicates the absence of traces.
