Lust'ger advice

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lust'ger Rath is a polka française by Johann Strauss Sohn ( op.350 ). The work was first performed on June 16, 1871 in Vienna's Volksgarten .

Remarks

The polka was put together based on motifs from the operetta Indigo and the 40 Robbers . This polka thus joins a series of works (opus numbers 343 , 344 , 345 , 346 , 347 , 348 , 349 and 351 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. In this case the composer quotes, among other things, the songs A lusty advice to be, by the king's grace, oh that is very bland ; It lives with us in the country and a beggar went out to the forest . The premiere of the Polka in the Vienna Volksgarten was conducted by Eduard Strauss .

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 2 minutes and 39 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
