At the double one is Schnellpolka by Johann Strauss II (op. 348). The work was performed for the first time on May 19, 1871 in the Volksgarten in Vienna .

Remarks

The Schnellpolka was put together based on motifs from the operetta Indigo and the 40 Robbers . It thus joins a series of works (opus numbers 343 , 344 , 345 , 346 , 347 , 349 , 350 and 351 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. In this work Strauss approaches the cancan created by Jacques Offenbach . The premiere in the Vienna Volksgarten took place on the occasion of a gala concert under the direction of Eduard Strauss .

The playing time on the CD listed under itemization is 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
