Indigo quadrille

The indigo quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 344). It was performed for the first time on March 5, 1871 in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein under the direction of Eduard Strauss .

Remarks

The work is based on motifs from the operetta Indigo and the 40 Robbers , which premiered in 1871 . It thus joins a series of works (opus numbers 343 , 345 , 346 , 347 , 348 , 349 , 350 and 351 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta.
