The Lutherhaus in Hanover is a building built in 1925 according to plans by the architect Paul Brandes . The building used today by the State Association for Inner Mission Hanover , as the seat of the Diakonisches Werk in Lower Saxony and the office of the Diakonisches Dienstgeberverband Niedersachsen (DDN) at Ebhardtstraße 3a in the Mitte district, shows on the street side a richly structured red clinker brick facade with a kind of “ bay -windows “curved window fields between pilaster strips .

The Lutherhaus, which has been expanded several times, is adorned with several sculptured ceramic figures on the facade : At the entrance to the building, the shepherd symbolizes faith , while the mother stands for love . Diakonia personalities are depicted above the first floor : Gerhard Uhlhorn , Adolf Stoecker , Martin Luther , Johann Hinrich Wichern and Friedrich von Bodelschwingh .

The Lutherhaus was the first seat of the Office for Community Service of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover until 1966 , when many institutions of the Regional Church were gathered from 1937. In the courtyard of the Luther House there is still a remnant of the city wall as part of the city fortifications of Hanover .
