Luz has been working for the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo since 1992 and for the magazine Fluide Glacial since 2003 . He drew several covers for Charlie Hebdo , including the Islamic Satirical Charia Hebdo cover in November 2011, which contained a Mohammed caricature with the words “ 100 coups de fouet, si vous n'êtes pas morts de rire! ”(“ 100 lashes, if you don't laugh yourself to death! ”) Showed. On the day of publication, an arson attack was carried out on the editorial rooms.

When twelve people, including eight employees of the magazine, were killed in the attack on Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015 , Luz was not present in the editorial office because he overslept on his birthday. On the cover, under the heading Tout est pardonné (“Everything is forgiven”), there is a caricature of a crying Mohammed holding a sign with the words “ Je suis Charlie ” in his hands.

In May 2015, he announced that he was leaving the Charlie Hebdo editorial team.
