Ly Klein

Ly Klein (born June 20, 1898 in Saarbrücken , † June 13, 1968 in Zweibrücken ) was a German painter .

Life

Ly Klein spent her youth in Saarbrücken. From 1921 to 1927 she studied at the Art Academy in Munich under Professor Carl von Marr , whose last master class she was. In 1922 she was a co-founder of the Saarland Artists Association. After initially working as a restorer, she stayed in Corsica from 1930 to 1931. In 1932 she worked as a freelance artist in Saarbrücken and after moving to Alsace. She especially painted motifs in and around Reichenweier . After the Second World War, she first worked in Saarbrücken and mainly painted landscapes in the region. After a stay in Lüdenscheid , Ly Klein moved to Zweibrücken. The painter Richard Wenzel appointed her on February 1, 1933 as heir to his fortune.

In 1968, part of her artistic estate became the property of the Museum Pfalzgalerie in Kaiserslautern as a foundation .
