Lycium cuneatum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium cuneatum is an upright shrub that reaches a height of 1 to 4 m. The leaves can have different forms of hair. They are 4 to 40 mm long and 3 to 32 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphrodite and fourfold. The calyx is bell-shaped and hairy. The calyx tube becomes 1.5 to 2.4 mm long and is covered with 0.5 to 1 mm long calyx teeth. The crown is funnel-shaped and white to cream yellow in color. The corolla tube reaches a length of 3 to 5 mm, the corolla lobes are 1.5 to 2 mm long. The stamens are densely tomentose on the lower 1.5 to 3 mm of the base.
The fruit is a deep purple, sometimes black, spherical berry with a length of 3 to 4 mm and a width of 3.5 to 4 mm. Three to six seeds are formed per carpel .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in South America and occurs there in Argentina , Bolivia and Paraguay .
