Lycium cyathiformum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium cyathiformum is an upright shrub that can reach a height of up to 2 m. The leaves are hairy and 11 to 40 mm long and 7 to 25 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and five-fold. The calyx is bell-shaped to tubular and hairy. The calyx tube is 3 to 4 mm long and is covered with 1 to 1.5 mm long calyx lobes. The crown is funnel-shaped and purple in color. The corolla tube becomes 7 to 10 mm long, the corolla lobes 1.5 to 2 mm. The stamens are hairy on the lower 1.5 to 3 mm of the base.
The fruit is a red, spherical berry that is 7 mm long and wide and contains seven to ten seeds per ovary compartment .
Occurrence
The species is widespread in South America and occurs there in Argentina in the provinces of Jujuy and Salta and in Bolivia .
