Lycium intricatum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Lycium intricatum is a sparse shrub that is armed with thorns and reaches a height of 2 m. The up to 15 mm long leaves are cylindrical to ovate and clearly succulent; when dry they are thrown off. The calyx of the flowers has a calyx tube up to 2 mm long. The purple crown is funnel-shaped; the length of the corolla tube is 13 to 18 mm. The fruit is an egg-shaped, orange-red berry .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in the Mediterranean region and occurs in southern Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands in the succulent bush and near the coast. In North Africa, this wolfberry occurs from western Algeria to Tangier and extends on the Atlantic coast to Mauritania . In the interior, the species penetrates into the steppe regions of eastern Morocco and Bechar .
