Lycium isthmense is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium isthmense is a climbing or upright shrub that reaches heights of 0.5 to 2 m. The leaves are hairless, not frosted and 6 to 30 mm long and 2 to 13 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and usually four-fold, rarely five-fold. The calyx is bell-shaped and hairless. The calyx tube is 3 to 4 mm long and is covered with 1 to 1.5 mm long calyx teeth. The crown is wheel-shaped-bell-shaped, pale purple with brown veins or white in color. The corolla tube is 4 to 5 mm long, the corolla lobes 2.5 to 3 mm. The stamens are finely haired at the base.
The fruit is a red or dark purple, egg-shaped berry that is 7 to 9 mm long and 5 to 6 mm wide. It contains ten to 15 seeds per ovary compartment .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Occurrence
The species occurs in Mexico in the states of Puebla and Oaxaca .
