Lycium megacarpum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium megacarpum is a low-growing, prostrate and tangled branched shrub that is armed with spines . It reaches heights of 0.3 to 1.5 m. Its leaves are succulent , hairless and 3 to 10 mm long and 5 to 30 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and five-fold. The calyx is tubular-bell-shaped and hairless. The calyx tube reaches 3.5 to 5 mm in length and is covered with 0.7 to 2 mm long calyx teeth. The crown is rounded and white with a greenish-purple corolla tube. The corolla tube reaches a length of 10 to 14 mm, the corolla lobes are 1.5 to 2.5 mm long. The stamens are densely hairy at the base of the free-standing area.
The fruit is a red, egg-shaped berry with a constriction. It becomes 9 to 12 mm long and almost as wide. It contains a multitude of seeds .
Occurrence
The species is common in the Mexican states of Baja California and Baja California Sur .
