Pedro Ronquillo Briceño

Pedro Ronquillo Briceño , 5th Conde de Ronquillo (* around February 1, 1630 in Madrid ; † 1691 ) was the ambassador of Charles II of Spain to Charles II of England from 1674 to 1676 and from 1679 to 1691 .

Life

Pedro Ronquillo Briceño was a descendant of the 1st Conde de Ronquillo , Rodrigo Ronquillo . Pedro and his sister Antonio called Maura were born in Madrid while his younger siblings were born in Italy. He learned Catalan, German, French and lived in Milan, Genoa and Rome. His father, Manuel Ronquillo Briceño, the 4th Conde de Ronquillo, a condottiere , died in 1635 near Milan during a conflict with troops serving France when he commanded a company of heavy riders .
