Lycium schreiteri is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Lycium schreiteri is an upright shrub that grows 0.5 to 2 m tall . Its leaves are succulent , their hairiness varies between hairless and fine glandular hairs. The leaves are 4 to 25 mm long and 2 to 11 mm wide.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and usually five, rarely six-fold. The calyx is tubular to bell-shaped and hairless. The calyx tube is 6 to 9 mm long and is covered with 1 to 3 mm long calyx lobes. The crown is funnel-shaped, the corolla tube is 8.5 to 11 mm long, the corolla lobes 3.5 to 5 mm. The stamens are densely hairy with fine trichomes 3 to 4.5 mm above the base .
The fruit is an orange, egg-shaped berry that is 6 mm long and 5 mm wide and has a constriction. It contains around 30 seeds per ovary compartment .
Occurrence
The species is common in the Argentine provinces of Catamarca , La Rioja , San Juan and Tucumán .
