Lydia Teuscher

Lydia Teuscher (* 1975 in Freiburg ) is a German opera, concert and lied singer (soprano).

Life

Lydia Teuscher studied singing a. a. in Cardiff and Mannheim and was a member of the ensemble at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden from 2006 to 2008 , where she played roles of the lyrical soprano such as Pamina ( Die Zauberflöte ), Gretel ( Hansel and Gretel ), Ännchen ( Der Freischütz ), Susanna ( Le nozze di Figaro ) and Valencienne ( The Merry Widow ). She made her debut at the Bavarian State Opera in 2009 as Ighino in Hans Pfitzner's Palestrina and appeared there as Pamina in September 2011 .

Further engagements led her to the Glyndebourne Festival , the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Salzburg Mozart Week , as Pamina at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and as Cherubino at the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto, Japan. In the 2016/17 season she made her debuts as Susanna at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center, Japan. The solo parts of numerous baroque and classical masses and oratorios are also an important focus of her work.
