Lyman Currier (born August 28, 1994 in Louisville ) is an American freestyle skier .

Career

Currier has been participating in competitions of the FIS and the AFP World Tour since 2010 . He achieved his first podium finishes in March 2011 at the USSA Revolution Tour on Mount Snow with second places in the halfpipe and in slopestyle . In the Freestyle Skiing World Cup he made his debut at the beginning of the 2011/12 season in Copper Mountain and finished 68th in the halfpipe. In March 2012, he came sixth in the World Cup in Mammoth for the first time in the top ten and won the USSA Revolution Tour on Mount Snow in the halfpipe. He finished the season in eighth place in the AFP World Tour overall standings. In the 2012/13 season he won his first World Cup victory in the Slopestyle in Sierra Nevada and won the Pipe Open Series in Truckee . At the end of the season he became the American halfpipe champion and finished fifth in the Slopestyle World Cup. After first place in the halfpipe at the beginning of the 2013/14 season at the New Zealand Freeski Open in Cardrona , he took third place in the halfpipe at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and at the US Grand Prix in Park City and also won the second US Grand Prix in Park City . At the Winter X Games 2014 in Aspen , he came sixth in the halfpipe competition. In February 2014, he came in 28th place in the halfpipe at the Winter Olympics in Sochi . At the end of the season he took third place in the AFP World Tour overall ranking. The following season he finished seventh in the 2015 Winter X Games in Aspen and second in the halfpipe at the AFP World Tour Final in Whistler . In the 2015/16 season he finished sixth at the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen and took 18th place at the X Games Oslo 2016 . In March 2016, he took second place in the halfpipe of the SFR Freestyle Tour and World Cup in Tignes and thus achieved fourth place in the halfpipe world cup. In the 2019/20 season he took two third places, 19th place in the overall World Cup and fifth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. He finished sixth at the Winter X Games 2020 .
