Lynn Flewelling

Lynn Flewelling (* 20th October 1958 in Presque Isle , Maine as Lynn Elizabeth Beaulieu ) is an American author of fantasy novels and short stories.

In Germany her novels about the shadow guild are best known.

Life

Flewelling grew up in rural Maine, lived on the east and west coasts of the United States, and traveled frequently to Europe . Flewelling graduated from the University of Maine, where she also graduated in English with a minor in history. She also took other courses at college, such as literature, veterinary medicine, and ancient Greek. After several different jobs, including a painter, freelance editor, office worker, freelance journalist and teacher (including in creative writing courses), she found her way to writing.

She has been married to Douglas Flewelling since 1981 and has two sons. Lynn Flewelling lives with her family in East Aurora , New York .

Shadow Guild

The shadow guild (English. The Nightrunner Series ) is a series that takes place in a fictional world, to which the countries Skala, Mycena and Aurënen belong. The land of Skala, the main place of the plot, is ruled by a queen and can be culturally settled in the Renaissance of Europe, but with woven-in fantasy elements such as the "Faie" (a long-lived people, but no elves or elves), dragons and Magic. The protagonists are Seregil, a faie in exile, and his protégé, friend and lover Alec. In addition, there are the magicians Nysander and Seregil's friend Micum in the first two volumes. In the third volume, Micum's daughter Beka and the young magician Thero take on the important supporting roles. Volume 4, Shadows Return , was published in June 2008. Volume 5, The White Road , was published in May 2010.

These books have been published in twelve countries including Japan , Russia , Spain, and France .

Tamir trilogy

The Tamir trilogy describes the life of Queen Tamir, who grows up as a boy due to intrigue and is only confronted with her true gender at a late stage.
