The steam locomotive series MÁV IVa was a freight train - steam locomotive series of the Hungarian State Railways Magyar Államvasutak (MÁV), which was also procured in small numbers by the Buschtěhrad Railway Company (BEB) as BEB IV .

history

Between 1882 and 1885 the MÁV procured a total of 38 type D freight locomotives , which were supplied by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik and the Lokomotivfabrik Floridsdorf . The MÁV gave them the numbers 501-538 in their first designation scheme. In the second scheme from 1892 they were MÁV IVa 4041-4083, since five machines were delivered. In the third scheme they were then called MÁV 420.001-043.

The BEB procured three units of this type from the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik in 1890 . They were classified as BEB IV and were given the company numbers 304-306.

After nationalization in 1923, the three machines came to the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD), which gave them the designation 412.004–006. The locomotives in this series were taken out of service by 1949. The ČSD also classified the slightly different locomotives described under BEB IV as 412.0.
