Màxim Huerta (born January 26, 1971 in Utiel ) is a Spanish politician , author and journalist .

Life

Huerta studied Information Science at the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid and received a Masters in Graphic Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design . After completing his studies, he worked for various newspaper publishers and radio stations in the Valencian Community . From 1997 to 2000 he worked as a journalist for the regional television station Nou . Since 2000 he worked for the television station Telecinco . As an author, he wrote several works.

Since June 7, 2018, he has been Minister for Culture and Sport in the Sánchez cabinet . He resigned from his ministerial post on June 13 after Huerta's conviction for tax fraud in 2017 became known. Successor was the former director of the Museo Reina Sofía , José Guirao .

Huerta is openly gay .
