Máté Koroknai (born January 13, 1993 ) is a Hungarian hurdler who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Athletic career

Máté Koroknai gained his first international experience in 2009 when he was eliminated in the first round at the World Youth Championships in Bressanone with 57.17 s, as well as at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Tallinn with 55.66 s. In 2012 he made it to the semi-finals of the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where he was eliminated with 52.51 seconds. The following year he failed at the U23 European Championships in Tampere with 51.91 s in the run-up and in 2014 he took part in the European Championships in Zurich for the first timepart, in which he was eliminated with 50.95 s in the semi-finals. At the 2015 U23 European Athletics Championships in Tallinn, he finished seventh in 50.44 s and in 2018 he reached the semi-finals again at the European Championships in Berlin , where he was eliminated with 49.77 s.

In 2014, 2015 and 2020 Koroknai was the Hungarian champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in 2011, 2013 and 2015 in the 4-by-400-meter relay outdoors and 2011 indoors.
