Men, Bombs, Satellites is a 2003 studio album by the Cashiers .

background

Musically, “Men, Bombs, Satellites” again shows an enormous stylistic variety. In addition to punk rock, there are hits, folk music, ska and even country elements to be heard. In terms of lyrics, the band is sometimes unusually political ("The Political Song", "Schnaps und Bier") and lets Wölfi sing about football, although he is not interested in it at all. The song "Ich bin lazy" is about the protagonist neglecting the household, gaining weight and even shitting in his armchair because of his lack of drive. The cover shows the band in military costumes standing in front of a strategic map on which punk, represented as a river, separates the areas of culture and commerce .

When cover is "You let yourself geh'n" contains the German version of Charles Aznavour - Chansons "Tu t'laisses all". On the other hand, the song “Du hast guckt” by Gunter Gabriel was covered on the cashier tribute album “Art” , as well as “Master of all pussies” by Bela B. and Rodrigo González (as “2 fucking dogs”).

reception

Ingo Neumayer said the band in a Visions -Rezension to being close to the concept of art, and praised the musical variety. In Ox-Fanzine Thomas Hähnel praised the album as a return to the 1993 work “The Holy Spirit Attacks” , even if some jokes are no longer entirely new.

The song "The worst thing is when the beer runs out" quickly developed into a classic, with which the band also appeared in 2013 on the program Circus HalliGalli . Singer Wölfi was naked, which led to a disturbed reaction from the studio guest Lena Meyer-Landrut .
