The Mässerbach is a five-kilometer long, year-round water-bearing river in the Binntal , Canton of Valais , Switzerland .

course

The stream rises immediately north of the Rhône-Po watershed, a little above the Geisspfad lake , into which it flows shortly afterwards. The political border between Switzerland and Italy runs 250 m south of the origin .

After the outflow it flows into the Züesee after a walk of only 60 m in a westerly direction . It flows another 400 m to the west, where at 2376  m above sea level. M. at the Zantmärjelebiel mountain peak, part of its water runs off into the hollow of a mountain lake ( 2366  m above sea level ).

Immediately afterwards the Mässerbach swings to the north and drops steeply in the next 1.4 km over postglacial scree fields by 394 meters. At an altitude of 1982  m above sea level. M. he picks up another, only temporarily pouring mountain stream from the left.

The following 1.6 kilometers of its flow path lead the brook over a further 323 meters through the Krummholzzone , where it is 1659  m above sea level. M. picks up a forest stream from the right and then reaches the Figgerscha settlement . There the Mässerbach strengthens at an altitude of 1599  m above sea level. M. still the Lengebach flowing in from the right . The Mässerbach flows southeast of Fäld at 1560  m above sea level. M. from the left into the Binna , a left tributary of the Rhone .

Others

The debris from the stream is interesting for mineral collectors . On the upper reaches of the stream, snow and ice surfaces must also be expected in northern locations in July and August.
