Mörikehaus Ochsenwang

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The poet and writer Eduard Mörike lived in the Mörikehaus in Ochsenwang , a sub-community of Bissingen an der Teck , from January 1832 to October 1833 as parish administrator.

exhibition

The exhibition in the former school building opposite the small church shows letters, drawings and parish reports from Mörike, as well as documents and church records as well as the literature he used. Parts of the parish library at that time could be reconstructed from Mörike's notes. As early as 1904, on Mörike's 100th birthday, the Swabian Alb Association placed a plaque on the house. 1951–1972 the memory of Mörike's stay in Ochsenwang was received by the organist and church caretaker at the time. Between 1979 and 1981 citizens of Ochsenwang renovated the house and built the current memorial in collaboration with the Office for Literary Museums based in Marbach am Neckar , which was inaugurated on October 25, 1981.

Mörike sites in the area

On the Albtrauf there is the so-called Mörikefelsen, which the poet used as a lookout point. Mörike let the experiences of his numerous hikes in the area flow into his poems. So he wrote a poem on the nearby Teck Castle . In December 1826 he was vicar in the parsonage of Oberboihingen , accordingly from December 1829 to May 1831 in the parsonage of Owen and again from March to April 1834. At the church of Owen is the grave plaque of the pastor and historian Wilhelm Zimmermann, who is a friend of Mörike and his wife Louise. Zimmermann served there as pastor from 1872 to 1878. In neighboring Weilheim an der Teck , Mörike was parish administrator from October 1833 to March 1834 , in Kirchheim-Ötlingen from the end of April to June 1834.
