The Mühlenbach is an approximately 7.1 km long, northern and orographically left tributary of the Ahr in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen .

The Mühlenbach rises in the Ahr Mountains as a hamlet . Its source is located on the southwest slope of the Sommerberg (approx.  527  m above sea  level ) in the Obere Ahr nature reserve with the Mühlheimer Bach, Reetzer Bach and Mühlenbachsystem in the area of ​​the municipality of Blankenheim at an altitude of about 490  m .

From here, the stream flows south through the nature reserve until it is dammed in the Weilerbach dam (Freilinger See). From the mouth of the Dörferbach (km 2.8) at the Freilinger Mühle, it is called Mühlenbach. As such, he passes a sewage treatment plant and then crosses under Landesstrasse 115 below the Mühlenberg ( 425.1  m ). It then flows south along the L 115 and flows into the Ahr tributary of the Rhine coming from the northwest at Ahrhütte at around 348  m above sea level .
