The "Rantzaustein" once marked the border between Wandsbek and Eilbek.

The Mühlenteichpark is a three- hectare public park in the Hamburg district of Wandsbek . It surrounds the historic mill pond in the course of the Wandse , which was created in the 16th century by the then Wandsbeker landlord Heinrich Rantzau to operate a water mill, which burned down in 1906. This led to border disputes with the Hamburg Heiligengeist Hospital , which owned the neighboring villages of Eilbek and Barmbek . The so-called "Rantzaustein", a boundary stone from 1573 at the confluence of the Eilbeker Weg and Brauhausstrasse, reminds of the settlement of the dispute.

The park is part of a green corridor along the Wandse, which also includes the Eichtalpark or the Wandsbek Botanical Special Garden . Since 2011, the park has been gradually redesigned and upgraded. a. by building a new children's playground with a playhouse, installing new benches and new plantings. The redesign is related to the redevelopment of the neighboring “Brauhausviertel”, in which numerous new apartments are being built instead of the previously dominant commercial use.
