location

The wasteland lies on the plateau of the southern Franconian Jura west of the municipality of Hitzhofen. From there it can be reached via Mühltaler Straße.

Name interpretation

After the first mention as "Milichtal" the place name is interpreted as "Milch" -tal, as a fertile, productive valley.

history

"Milichtal" was awarded to the Bishop of Eichstätt by arbitration in 1305 in the dispute between the Church of Eichstätt and the Duke of Bavaria over the Hirschberg inheritance. Until the end of the Old Kingdom, the wasteland was under the jurisdiction of the Eichstätt Landvogteiamt and under the Eichstätt manorial office.

In the course of the secularization of 1802/03, Mühltal came to the Grand Duke Archduke Ferdinand III with the Landvogtamt Eichstätt . from Salzburg-Tuscany and 1806 to the Kingdom of Bavaria . Here the wasteland, belonging to the municipality of Oberzell , was assigned to the Hitzhofen tax district in 1806 . The community edict of 1818 brought again the community independence of Oberzell with Mühltal; the community belonged to the district court and rent office Ingolstadt , 1819 to 1832 to the Leuchtenberg city and lordship court of Eichstätt. In 1830, eleven people lived in Mühltal. Three decades after the end of the Leuchtenberg principality of Eichstätt and its relapse to Bavaria, in 1862 the municipality of Oberzell with Mühltal, together with the municipalities of Hitzhofen and Lippertshofen, was separated from the Eichstätt regional court and assigned to the Kipfenberg regional court .

In 1852 a chapel was built and dedicated to the Holy Trinity , St. Sebastian and St. Dedicated to Margareta .
