The Müller-Hinton agar is a microbiological nutrient medium which is normally used to test antibiotic resistance and to grow Neisseria or Moraxella .

Composition::

5% sheep's blood is also added if you want to test streptococci , Campylobacter , Neisseria or other demanding germs. According to the new European standard EUCAST , sheep blood is no longer used, but horse blood and, as a further additive, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). With the addition of NAD, Haemophilus spp. on this agar.
