Delimitations
The Münchner Stadtzeitung magazine should not be confused with the local newspaper Münchner Stadtzeitung of the same name for the east and suburbs of Munich , which appeared as a supplement to the Münchner Merkurs in the 1950s. Even current city magazines such as including the GO> , the precursor of 1990, not with to 2001 Munich city newspaper related Munich city magazine was or munichx carry the nickname "the Munich city magazine".
history
The Münchner Stadtzeitung emerged in 1980 from the monthly Münchner Pop: Stadt-Zeitung (previously: Münchner Pop Zeitung ). According to taz, Arno Heß, as the publisher of the Cultura Verlag, was able to write Michael-A, who had been writing for the lifestyle magazines Wiener and Tempo , among others, in January 1980 . Both the volume and the number of copies were increased after readers of the magazine Blatt (1973–1984), which at the time was competing with the Münchner Stadtzeitung, were won over.
In addition to the classified ads section and a comprehensive calendar of events and concerts, several authors also contributed, among other things, to urban and scene culture, local politics and socio-political issues. From 1984 the Münchner Stadtzeitung appeared every two weeks.
Konitzer left the editorial team in 1986 and joined the founding team of the German Wiener edition as chief reporter and deputy editor-in-chief. In 1989 the Münchner Stadtzeitung was bought by the Jahreszeiten Verlag together with other city magazines and was then included in the Munich edition of the Prinz magazine .
