Münchszell is a district of Sankt Englmar in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and in the Upper Bavarian Forest , located around three kilometers to the south-west , which in 1987 had a population of 22. The hamlet is on the European long-distance hiking trail E8 . The main industries are dairy farming and tourism. From around 750 m above sea level. NN high on a mountain ridge facing south you have a wide-ranging view of the Danube valley with Straubing , Bogen and the Bogenberg , which on clear days extends into the Alps , from the Dachstein in the east to the Zugspitze massif in the west. The next ski lift is about 1 km away, as is the “Waldwipfelweg”.
