Münden is a district of Lichtenfels (Hessen) in the Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

location

Around 380 people live in the village on the Orke , about 1.5 km from the Westphalian border. In the past, Low German was spoken in the village because it was north of the Benrath line . The Nerdar desert is located in the local area .

history

In 1028, Emperor Konrad II confirmed that the abbot of the Corvey monastery had given the court to Gimundia to the matron Alvered for lifelong use. Münden was first mentioned in a document. At the end of the 13th century pledged Corvey the Waldecker Count Otto I of Waldeck the Office Munden . In a dispute between Corvey and Waldeck in 1321, Münden was awarded to the Waldeckers by arbitration. Count Heinrich IV of Waldeck pledged the place in 1336 to Count Johann von Nassau-Hadamar as a dowry of his daughter Elisabeth. From 1473 Münden, which until then had been the seat of a Corvey and later a Waldeck office , belonged to the Dalwigk office of Lichtenfels . In the feuds and border disputes between Kurköln and Waldeck that continued from 1533 , the Cologne electors also claimed the village of Münden. The residents were challenged to the Cologne court in Medebach , but they were forbidden to appear there by the Lords of Dalwigk. In 1663, in a settlement with the Counts of Waldeck, Kurköln renounced the claims to the village and office of Münden.

On October 1, 1971, Münden and seven other communities formed the new town of Lichtenfels.
