Mărgineni is a municipality in Bacau County in the Moldova Region in Romania . The municipality consists of eight villages: Barați , Luncani , Mărgineni, Pădureni , Podiș , Poiana , Trebeș and Valea Budului .
Geographical location
Mărgineni is located in the north of the Bacau district, six kilometers from the district capital Bacau .

history
Archaeological finds testify to the existence of human life since the Neolithic on the territory of today's Mărgineni. In 1964 a getic grave was uncovered on the hill Chichindel in Mărgineni . The urn that was uncovered is in the Bacau Museum .
Mărgineni was first mentioned in a document in 1619, when the manor belonged to the boyar Manolache Ruset . In 1711 Ștefan Ruset defeated a horde of 100 Polish soldiers and was rewarded for this by the gospodar Constantin Mavrocordat .
The main occupation of the population is agriculture , especially grain growing, but also cattle breeding , viticulture and handicrafts .
