The M17 (Armenian: Մ 17) is a trunk road in Armenia . The road runs through the Syunik province in southern Armenia a few kilometers from the Azerbaijani border and is considered an alternative eastern route to the parallel M2 trunk road . The southern section between Schwanidsor and Meghri runs along the Iranian border river Aras and is also part of the European route 002 .
