The M1 in Proschjan

The M1 (Armenian: Մ 1) is a trunk road in Armenia . The road connects the capital Yerevan via Gyumri with the border with Georgia at the Bawra - Ninozminda border crossing .

The stretch between Yerevan and Ashtarak was expanded as a motorway to around 18 km during the Soviet period . The entire route is 169 kilometers long.
