The M17 motorway ( English for "Autobahn M17", Irish Mótarbhealach M17 ) is a nearly 26 km long, non-toll high-level road link in the Republic of Ireland , which extends the M18 motorway coming from Limerick over the M6 motorway northwards towards Sligo . This north-south axis crosses the M6 motorway at junction 18 (common number for all three affected motorways), which is in the form of a level above, as part of the planned Atlantic Corridor, which is being postponed due to the recession in Ireland the large roundabout lying on the M4, which is not signposted as a motorway. The route has been expanded and in operation as a motorway since September 27, 2017 and replaces a section of the busy N17. Junction 19 provides improved access to the city of Roscommon ( Ros Comain ), while junction 20 provides travel north to and from the town of Sligo ( Sligeach ).
