The M9 motorway ( English for "Autobahn M9", Irish Mótarbhealach M9 ) is a 119 km long, toll-free high-level road connection in the Republic of Ireland , completed in 2010 , which branches off the M7 motorway to the south at Athgavan and together with the M7 Dublin bypassing Carlow and Kilkenny connects with Waterford . It ends at a roundabout (Junction 12) north of the River Suir just before the County Waterford border and there continues for a short distance into the N9; Newrath Road and Rice Bridge lead into the center of Waterford.
