MAGE-A3 ( English melanoma antigen A3 ) is a human tumor antigen from the group of tumor-testis antigens .

properties

MAGE-A3 is 314 amino acids in length and 34,807 Da in mass . It comes as a tumor antigen not in healthy cells before (except in immune privileged spermatocytes ), but often in different tumors expressing such. B. melanomas , brain tumors , breast cancer , non-small cell lung tumors , ovarian cancer . It is therefore a target antigen in the development of cancer vaccines and cancer immunotherapies with adoptive cell transfer .
