The MTV Rheinwacht Dinslaken is a sports club from the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Dinslaken . It was created in its current form in 1974 from the merger of MTV Dinslaken with SV Rheinwacht Eppinghoven. The oldest predecessor association was founded in 1897. Handball

The MTV is known nationwide for its handball department. The men's team of MTV played a total of seven seasons in the Oberliga Niederrhein between 1957 and 1966, when this was still the top division in field handball. In 1959 and 1962, the MTV took part in the upper league fourth in the West German championship. The SV Rheinwacht Eppinghoven made it into the league in 1973 when it was only third class. The MTV Dinslaken played parallel a league higher in the Regionalliga West. The following year both clubs merged.

In indoor handball, MTV played for five years from 1971 in the Regionalliga West, which was the second highest division at the time. The merged MTV Rheinwacht rose in 1976 to the Oberliga Niederrhein, which he then belonged to until 1994 before relegating to the Association League.
