MaChlast is an Austrian wind orchestra .

history

The two clarinetists Matthias Schorn and Michael Gruber had the idea to found the group in the spring of 2003 in Vienna - Hietzing . The name “MaChlast” describes the “sociable bunch with a penchant for excess” ( Czech chlast , drinking binge ). The core repertoire of the chapel are self- composed or arranged pieces.

The 14-piece line- up resembles that of a Moravian brass band due to the single-part clarinets and the descending E-flat trumpets , but the flugelhorns are multiple.

MaChlast has already made numerous appearances on radio and television in Austria, Italy , Germany , the Netherlands , Slovakia and Switzerland, as well as at festivals such as the Woodstock of brass music organized by MaChlast trumpeter Simon Ertl .

The own compositions and arrangements are published in our own “music and music publishing house Machmusik”.
