Maaret Westphely
Maaret Westphely (born August 22, 1974 in Hanover ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2013 to 2017 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .
education and profession
After graduating from the Ricarda Huch School in Hanover in 1994 , Maaret Westphely studied geography in Potsdam and Joensuu . She graduated in 2003 with a thesis on citizen participation in urban development in Berlin-Friedrichshain . From 2008 to 2013 she was an employee of the green member of the state parliament Enno Hagenah .
Political activity
Maaret Westphely has been a member of the Greens since 2003. From 2006 to 2013 she was a member of the city council of Hanover.
In the 2009 federal election , Maaret Westphely ran for the Greens in the Hanover II city electoral district , but, as expected, lost to Edelgard Bulmahn (SPD).
In the state elections in 2013 , she was elected to the state parliament over number 15 on the state list. In addition, she entered the Hanover-Mitte state electoral district , which Michael Höntsch (SPD) won.
Private
Maaret Westphely has both German and Finnish citizenship. She lives in Hanover-List , is married and has two children.
