The Macau Tower is the 338 meter high television tower on the southern tip of Macau , a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China . It was officially opened on December 19, 2001 after a construction period of three years. The tower was designed by Gordon Moller of CCMBECA, New Zealand architects.
description
The tower has a total of five viewing decks. Among other things, there is a restaurant that can be rotated 360 degrees . The main viewing platform is 223 meters high and offers a view of up to 55 kilometers. From there, large parts of Macau and Taipa can be seen. The 256.6 meter high tower shaft measures 16 meters in diameter at its base and 12 meters at the transition to the tower cage . The height of the antenna is 90 meters.
Attractions
An unusual attraction is the outer ring approx. 1.5 meters wide, which is accessible at a height of 233 meters and on which you can walk around the tower. This ring has no railing and can be walked on to the outer edge. The visitor is only secured by a safety harness and a leash. The concept comes from the inventor of the bungee Jumpings , AJ Hackett , and called Skywalk X . Since September 2005 the new type of sport Sky Jump has been offered, a jump related to bungee jumping, but without the yo-yo effect. In 2007 the world's highest commercial bungee station opened at the Macau Tower with a jump height of 233 meters.
