Maciej Zaremba (born March 12, 1951 in Poznań ( Poland )) is a Swedish journalist and author who has worked in the culture department of Dagens Nyheter since 1989 .

Zaremba came to Sweden from Poland in 1969. In his youth he was a member of the Förbundet communist , with the decline of which he also turned away from communism.

Zaremba studied a. a. History and history of ideas . He used to write for the magazine Moderna tider and is now a freelance journalist. He wrote a large number of reportage series for Dagens Nyheter, including the attention-grabbing series on forced sterilization in Sweden during the 1930s and 1940s.

In 2005 he wrote a series of reports entitled Den polske rörmokaren (German: The Polish Plumber ) about the Vaxholm conflict . According to Zaremba, there is protectionism and xenophobia in the Swedish trade union movement (" fackföreningen ").

Zaremba also created the expression " brunvänster " (roughly: " brown left "). He is also a translator of Polish literature into Swedish.

Maciej Zaremba has been married to the author Agneta Pleijel since 1982 .
