The Maconnachie rock is a rock ledge in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the Schmidt Hills section of the Neptune Range in the Pensacola Mountains, it rises immediately west of Mount Hobbs .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2010. It is named after Alan Maconnachie from the British Antarctic Survey , who worked in the Pensacola Mountains and on the Antarctic Peninsula in the 1980s .
