geography

The Macoucheri River rises with several source streams on the southern summit of Mosquito Mountain (and Morne Apion , 800  m ) and with other streams in the Petit Macoucheri basin . The catchment area of the Layou River with the Matthieu River and Rivière Battre Bois begins in the east . The source streams join at Petit Macoucheri and the river runs in a large arc to the southwest through Gros Fond , Marsden and Hobshole Estate , where it receives a flow through the small Ravine Pierre . There it also turns stronger to the west, pushed away by Mount Vernon ( En Bas Chute ), where the Mero River rises , among other things . After a few kilometers it flows into the Caribbean Sea at Macoucheri Estate between Méro and Salisbury .
